Support for GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to explode, thanks to his uncensored talk about illegal immigration. And thanks to that growing support the presidential candidate had to move a Saturday event in Phoenix, Arizona to a much larger venue.
Trump’s speech – with an appearance by “America’d toughest sheriff” Joe Arpaio, initially was going to be held at the Arizona Biltmore resort in Phoenix. At the time, Trump’s campaign only expected about 1,000 people to attend the free event. Tickets, however, were gone in less than 3 hours.
So organizers were forced to move the speech to a larger venue at the Phoenix Convention Center, where it again sold out almost immediately. As of Friday afternoon, organizers expected 5,000 people to attend the event, with hundreds more on a waiting list hoping to get in.
“Due to the overwhelming response for Saturday’s Rally in Phoenix, Arizona the venue has been changed to accommodate the thousands of people expected to attend and the event will now take place at the Phoenix Convention Center,” Trump’s press secretary Hope Hicks wrote in a press release.
Demand is so strong for Trump that this evening tickets for the free event are popping up on Craigslist, among other classified-ad sites, where the average price is $50.
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton (D) blasted Trump’s comments against illegal alien criminals, and Mexico, as “racist” and “ignorant,”
La Raza member and Vice-Mayor Daniel Valenzuela even absurdly said Trump should be “stopped” from speaking at the publicly-funded convention center, a position even the mayor rejected.
Pro-amnesty Republicans like Sen. John McCain and Sen. Jeff Flake were not much better — acting just like the left-wing Democrats who are supposed to be their opponents, but with whom they are in bed when it comes to keeping illegal alien cheap labor flowing into America.
McCain slammed Trump’s comments about Mexican criminal illegal aliens, distorting Trump’s meaning, and bizarrely declaring “we love our Hispanic citizens” – which had nothing to do with Trump’s criticism of America’s open borders and Mexico exporting its worst across it.
Flake was embarrassed after he asked the Republican Party of Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, to withdraw its sponsorship of Trump’s event, the Post said, but the party refused, and told the paper it is “thrilled” about the speech.
Even new Gov. Doug Ducey is avoiding Trump like the plague – despite pretending to be against illegal immigration to win in a competitive primary last year. Ducey has refused not only to publicly meet with Trump, but to even have a private discussion with him while he’s in Phoenix.
Hundreds are on a waiting list for the now sold-out event, but hundreds more allied with groups such as Stand With Arizona are expected to protest against illegal immigration outside the arena — to be countered by pro-illegal La Raza supporters and Hispanic supremacist group Brown Berets.
