Sheriff’s Warning To Feds: Stop Harassing Us… Or We Will Arrest You’ – Watch What Happens

When Indiana Sheriff Brad Rogers heard that a farmer in his county who produces and sells raw milk had been harassed by Obama’s FDA and the DOJ every couple of weeks for a months, he became furious. Rogers knew that the farmers were doing nothing wrong and that the milk was safe and no danger to anyone.

What Rogers did next should inspire Americans to action from coast-to-coast.

He told the feds in no uncertain terms that if they came back and came after this farmer again, they would be charged and arrested.

Guess what happened next? They backed off.

As Terresa Monroe-Hamilton of RWN reported, the Sheriff emailed Obama’s goons:

“I understand that you have made recent requests to (the farmer) for documents and to appear before a grand jury, and he has had a number of inspections and attempted inspections on his farm within Elkhart County. This is notice that any further attempts to inspect this farm without a warrant signed by a judge, based on probable cause, will result in federal inspectors’ removal or arrest for trespassing by my officers or I. In addition, if any further action is taken by the federal government on (the farmer), while he is in Elkhart County, I will expect that you or federal authorities contact my office prior to such action. I will expect you to forward this information to your federal associates, including the FDA.”

Shortly after the email was sent, the farmer received a certified letter from the DOJ that said his grand jury subpoena had been cancelled. No federal inspectors have visited the farm since that date — 2 years ago.

And this Sheriff is still standing between citizens and the feds. We salute him.

The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Department of Justice (DOJ) took the actions four years ago simply because the farmer was providing raw milk to an organic food co-op. The story is receiving renewed coverage because the Indiana sheriff, Elkhart County’s Brad Rogers, wrote a 600-word explanation for a local newspaper as part of his “Ask The Sheriff” series. Off The Grid News previously reported on the dispute.

“Specifically, the FDA was inspecting his farm without a warrant as much as every two weeks,” Rogers wrote. “Typical inspections occur annually. The Department of Justice (DOJ) had subpoenaed him for a grand jury in Michigan in which he was to bring his production documents. The Feds wanted to make this farmer an example.

“My research,” Rogers added, “concluded that no one was getting sick from this distribution of this raw milk. It appeared to be harassment by the FDA and the DOJ, and making unconstitutional searches, in my opinion. The farmer told me that he no longer wished to cooperate with the inspections of his property.”

“Your local elected officials … can stem the tide of federal overreach if they apply just a little backbone in supporting and defending the Constitution. Expect it! Demand it!,” Rogers wrote. “Some bloggers and natural food writers have hailed me as a hero. I’m no hero. I’m just doing my job. Whether you are conservative or liberal, I will be a guardian of the Constitution for you, and will not stand idly by while the rights of citizens of my county are trampled, whether by criminals or an overreaching government.”

Sheriff Rogers said that raw milk is safe and he, his parents and his grandparents drank it, and have done so for generations. This same Sheriff took a stand for the Second Amendment as well:

    Many (most) people dn’t realize that a Sheriff DOES have this power. Thank God this Sheriff is standing up for American freedoms, and not lying down while the Federal government oversteps the voundaries of their authority. (Find me anywhere in the Constitution where is is the authority for the Federal government to harrass or regulate farmers of any sort.)

        No it isn’t. Read the preamble of the Constitution. IT gives the federal government all the power it needs to regulate farmers or any other industry where the health and welfare of WE THE PEOPLE is concerned. REading comprehension is just not your strong suit. Neither is the use of logic. A sheriff is good to clean out a bar of the riff raff but are not good for much of anything else.

          Anything that happens inside the borders of a single state is primarily the responsibility of that state… You have a misguided Idea of what power the Constitution grants. Can you show me in the constitution where a farmer has no right to sell a product, another person buy said product and money exchanged? No you can’t. As long as that farmer didn’t force the buyer to buy his product, no rights were violated as it was a voluntary transaction. Sit down, your time to answer questions is over.

          No it does not. The federal government has the right to regulate business across the state lines not within the state. The 10th Amendment says – The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.[4]. In other words the federal government ONLY has the power within the Constitution and nothing else unless it is granted by the States. IF and State of the Union says get out, the Federal government has to get out unless it is something granted in the Constitution, specifically. You sir may need to read things a little better first.

          The powers of Congress are found in Article 1, section 8, of the Constitution.

          The following is a brief summary:

          To levy and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises.
          To borrow money.
          To regulate commerce with foreign nations, among the states, and with Indian tribes.
          To establish rules for naturalization (that is, becoming a citizen) and bankruptcy.
          To coin money, set its value, and punish counterfeiting.
          To fix the standard of weights and measures.
          To establish a post office and post roads.
          To issue patents and copyrights to inventors and authors.
          To create courts inferior to (that is, below) the Supreme Court.
          To define and punish piracies, felonies on the high seas, and crimes against the law of nations.
          To declare war.

          The Constitution does not GIVE the government anything. It is a RESTRICTION on what the government can do. You really need to understand the Constitution first before you comment.

          No where does it say health.. It says promote the General welfare. It never said to regulate people in there consumption of products, unless those products are generally unhealthy for citizens as a whole. Raw milk has been consumed for 100’s of years, and is generally healthy for most citizens. The over regulation of raw milk, would be like over regulating milk because a minority of people are lactose intolerant.

          The federal government is over involved. It even fined a dairy farmer for selling raw milk and calling it all natural, because of the implication that store bought milk is unnatural (even though it is because of the processing)

        • You’re ignorant. Government does not get its power from paper. It gets its power from guns. Our founding documents were limits on government power, that were recorded on paper, so that we see when the federales violate those limits in order to maintain their power over the people! Why are my taxes being wasted by federales threatening people not sell / buy raw milk? They can die or go out of business on their own. There’s no need for governmemt to get involved. Obviously, they are doing just fine so millions of tax dollars were wasted.

If a crime, harassment, extortion, unlawful searches etc…are taking place ( by anyone) federal employee or not, he can arrest and charge them. Bar “riffraff”? Really? That’s funny because to obtain a sound suppressor ( silencer) or NFA firearm in your county, it’s not the ATF that says it’s ok, it’s the CLEO which is usually the Sherrif.

    I hope that the citizens of Elkhart County, IN appreciate the sheriff they have, a straight-shooting, no-nonsense lawman who knows he does not have to take a load of crap from Obozo and his minions. There is someone here by the name of Hutton, who knows nothing about the Constitution or the powers of the sheriff of a county. The sheriff is THE highest law enforcement officer in his county, and that includes the federal government. Hutton is the one who needs to read the Constitution, in it’s entirety, and not cherry-pick those things he agrees with like our POTUS and most of the Congressmen and Representatives the sheeple keep sending back to Washington, where they vote for their favorite parts of the Constitution, while trying to get rid of the parts they dislike, such as the Second Amendment. I have served under a sheriff in Marion County, IN and Pinal County, AZ. I understand that Indianapolis has now absorbed Marion County, and made it part of Indianapolis Metro. This is Unigov, the program Richard Luger forced down the throats of Hoosiers in the Circle City.

    The Sheriff is THE CHIEF LEO in every county and this has been tested many times the most notorious case was Jack Kennedy attempting to enter Plaquemines Parrish over school integration. I think it was Judge Peres that told the Sheriff to do his job and not let that man enter the Parrish. Jack went back to DC with his tail between his legs. I will add something that has yet to be tested. FEMA has in every county an Emergency Management Supervisor and supposedly when a disaster occurs this person is in total charge.. Federal Overreach? What constitutes an Emergency ? Flood, Fire , Tornado or INSURRECTION? I see a court test on this overreach by the Fed into a STATE affair and the sooner the better. In my county I would not let the individual SELECTED for the job carry out my garbage.
    FEMA is always the last to respond and has the most paperwork. The recent tornado in my county was covered by the Local Churches First, the Red Cross 2nd and FEMA showed up with their 150K motor home and occupied the local fire station with 20 or so PAID volunteers to distribute literature about how to apply for a Low interest loan. while our FEMA Supervisor drove around town in his 60k FEMA truck( which BTW has been spotted in several town up to 100 miles outside the county) Am I in favor of bigger Govt.? Your kidding right?
