Napolitano’s First Act as U of Cal. Prez: Give $5 Million to Illegal Aliens

Stymied in her quest to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General in Obama’s 2nd term, Janet Napolitano “settled” for a cushy $570,000-a-year job as University of California President. There,  she is continuing the betrayal of Americans in favor of illegal aliens which was the hallmark of her tenure as Homeland Security boss.

As her first act as UC Pres., Napolitano announced that she’s allocating $5 million to illegal aliens students living in California.

The $5 million fund will provide illegals with scholarships and special counseling to help them through their college careers — at the same time that the state has slashed aid for citizen students.

“Let me be clear. UC welcomes all students who qualify academically, whether they are documented or undocumented…Consider this a down payment— one more piece of evidence of our commitment to all Californians,” declared the former Homeland Security secretary.

Napolitano incredibly said that illegal alien students “merit special attention.”

Above: Big Sis doesn’t care about the ‘dreams’ of American citizen students, whose aid has been cut while illegals have been handed $65 million by the state.

“Oftentimes they are from families who are very poor and first-generation, so have no one out there to talk to them about student life,” she said.

Out of the 239,000 students in the University of California system, approximately 900 illegal alien students enroll each year.

The $5 million handout by Napolitano is just the latest insult to California students (and their taxpayer parents).  In October 2011, Gov. Jerry Brown signed the California Dream Act, which gave illegals $40 million in subsidies — and which is estimated to have taken away $65 million in aid for LEGAL students.

As Rep. Tim Donnelly (R) said: “Tuition rates have been going up, the universities have budget cuts of $1.2 billion and there are lotteries for classes – but if someone is here illegally, we roll out the red carpet.”
