In the wake of President Donald Trump’s victory, far-left godfather George Soros has been funding paid agitators to disrupt Republican town halls across the nation during the current Congressional recess.
But if the disgraceful behavior of one of their rent-a-mobs in Louisiana is any indication, the only “cost” will be Democrat elections in 2018.
Dr. Bill Cassidy, a first-term Republican senator from Louisiana, was meeting with a crowd of constituents in Metairie yesterday, but as Louisiana State chaplain Michael Sprague begun to recite an opening prayer — which he does before every meeting, as is done in the Senate every morning — the crowd immediately began to loudly heckle him:
One local reporter said one of the many Muslim women in the front row angrily yelled “No…Allah” at the end of the prayer.
But the disruptions didn’t end there. As a local combat veteran took the microphone to lead the crowd in a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, the jeering continued at the show of patriotism that clearly was not welcome by the leftists:
According to a local news account of the town hall event, many constituents had arrived at 11:30 a.m. for the event, which wasn’t scheduled to begin until 3:30 p.m — in order to crowd out any Cassidy supporters. This is a key objective of the Town Hall Project: no dissenting voices, only mass disruption.
The venue was much too small for the hundreds who actually showed up, because it had been booked weeks in advance and Cassidy’s staff hadn’t expected such a large crowd. To top it off, Cassidy arrived 20 minutes late, as he had been inspecting the tornado damage in New Orleans.
