Former Secretary of State John Kerry, who has repeatedly shown his bias against Israel and towards U.S. enemies like Iran, went far over the line in a meeting with a top Palestinian leader overseas,
And what Kerry had to say to undermine U.S. government policy is promoting some to call for a Department of Justice inquiry against him.
Kerry reportedly whose bias against Israel has been well-documented, has once again illustrated how partial he is toward the Palestinian Authority, according to the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv,
Kerry reportedly met with a top aide to Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas in London; that aide, Hussein Agha then reported back to PA officials in Ramallah. A senior PA official confirmed the meeting to the Middle East newspaper Ma’ariv.
Despite President Donald J. Trump’s clear efforts to pressure the Palestinians to make a peace deal, Kerry urged them to resist Trump, and promised to help them subvert his policies, in order to promote their interests.
As DailyWire reports:
Kerry asked Agha to convey a message to Abbas and ask him to “hold on and be strong.” Tell him, he told Agha, “that he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time, that he will not break and will not yield to President Trump’s demands.”
Kerry told Agha he would help them present their own peace plan by utilizing any and all of his contacts, including those in Europe and the international community, suggesting, “Maybe it is time for the Palestinians to define their peace principles and present a positive plan.” Kerry urged that Abbas refrain from attacking the current administration or America in general and restrict himself to attacks on Trump personally, allegedly using derogatory terms to describe Trump.
If true, Kerry’s actions — which some are calling “treasonous” — is also a clear violation of U.S. law, specifically the Logan Act:
The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18 U.S.C. § 953, enacted January 30, 1799) is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments having a dispute with the U.S. It was intended to prevent the undermining of the government’s position.”
Violation of the Logan Act is a felony.
But Kerry didn’t stop there. What he told Agha afterwards should disturb all Americans:
According to Kerry, Trump will not remain in office for a long time. It was reported that within a year there was a good chance that Trump would not be in the White House.
The arrogant Kerry even suggested that, with Trump out of the way, he himself might run again for President in 2020, age not being an “obstacle” for the 74 year old Kerry.
Kerry has hated Israel for years; in 2014, speaking to the Trilateral Commission a few days after PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas signed a unity deal with the murderous Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups, Kerry said that if Israel didn’t make a deal with the Palestinians, it would either cease to be a Jewish state or become “an apartheid state.”
Kerry has whitewashed the Palestinian Authority for any connection with violence, saying in 2016,“The Palestinians have done an extraordinary job of remaining committed to nonviolence.”
In December 2016, radio host Mark Levin eviscerated Kerry for a speech he had given, noting how Kerry cherry-picked facts, never bothered to mention when speaking of history that Palestinian Arabs collaborated with Nazis, and most importantly, refused to mention the 5,000 year-old connection Jews have with the land of Israel.
And now Kerry is trying to undermine official U.S. policy to support a terrorist-supporting group.
The DOJ needs to send a message that such treason will not be tolerated.
