On Wednesday afternoon, top leaders from the GOP stood behind President Donald Trump as he gave remarks following a monumental tax bill passing votes in both the House and Senate.
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) was invited by Trump to give some remarks at the lectern. He said:
“Let me just say to those Americans who are watching this process, this is not about Washington. It’s not about the left. It’s not about the right. It’s about single-parent moms who are looking for a reason to be hopeful in 2018.”
But then the Huffington Post’s Andy Ostroy, then attacked Scott for being the only black person on the stage:
Ostroy couldn’t have picked a worse target.
Because that “one black person” on stage, Scott, responded with an absolute scorcher:
Scott was central to the writing of the historic tax cut bill since December 2016, when he wrote the first draft!
Once again, we see who the true racists are. Why did Ostroy assume Scott was a mere “prop” and not a co-author of the bill? Liberal racism.
UPDATE: Of course the HuffPost weasel deleted his tweet, without so much as a tepid apology. Coward.
Senator Scott, On behalf of the American People, I thank you.
