Breaking news out of New York City.

A pipe bomb has apparently gone off underneath the Port Authority Bus terminal in the tunnel leading to the subway right in the middle of rush hour.

You can see the explosion on this video.

One person is in custody after the explosion that prompted mass chaos and stampede, and halted multiple subway lines.

From Fox News:

An NYPD source on the scene told Fox News a device went off and there was a person strapped with a bomb.

President Trump had been briefed on the incident, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted.

NYPD and FDNY officials confirmed to Fox News they were investigating reports of an explosion “of an unknown origin” near 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Police tweeted the A, C, E subways lines were being evacuated. The terminal is “temporarily closed by authorities” at this time.

Port Authority is the largest bus terminal in the U.S. and about 232,000 commuters go through the area daily.

Reportedly, the man had a bomb strapped to his body, and it may have gone off prematurely — a mistake that likely saved dozens of lives.

UPDATE: Now we know who the suspect is, and President Trump is proven right once again.

The suspect is Ullah Akayed, 27 years old. a Bangladeshi Muslim immigrant who has lived in the country for seven years.

It is unknown whether he was one of the “Rohingya” Muslims who have carried out terror attacks in Myanmar.

He is reported as “ISIS-inspired.”

And we now have the first photo of him:

The ISIS bomber failed in his mission to slaughter hundreds of New Yorkers.
