Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is about to have a very bad day.
Bergdahl’s attorney has stated he is going to face charges of “desertion” and “misbehavior before the enemy.”
UPDATE 2:08 p.m. – Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will be charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, according to Bergdahl’s attorney and a Congressional source.
UPDATE 1:52 p.m. – The U.S. military said Wednesday that it will make an announcement on the Bergdahl case at 3:30 EDT from Fort Bragg.
It’s been nearly a year since Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl returned to the United States as part of a prisoner exchange and since the Army began a formal investigation into his disappearance from his unit. Yet the Army still hasn’t made public its findings and, with them, what discipline — if any — Bergdahl will face for leaving his base in eastern Afghanistan in June 2009.
It’s about time. As TRN has previously reported, Obama forced the Pentagon to delay these charges for months, first until after the elections, and then so as not to have media focus on his disastrous release of 5 Islamic terrorists in exchange for this sniveling traitor, while ISIS filled the vacuum Obama left in Iraq.
Obama’s release of the terrorists from Gitmo came without the approval of Congress.
Now Congress needs to press the Pentagon on exactly what else Bergdahl did once he deserted, which they call “misbehavior before the enemy.” TRN previously reported that Bergdahl apparently converted to Islam, became a willing jihadist, and assisted the Taliban in locating his former comrades — resulting in numerous deaths attributed to his “assistance.” If any that is proven, Bergdahl must be executed.
Now will the media rake Obama over the coals for the disgraceful trade for this deserter? Don’t hold your breath.
