ABC’s New ‘Bachelor’ Says ‘Gays’ Shouldn’t Be on the Show – Bad Example for Kids

Hollywood heads explode as  ABC’s new ‘Bachelor’ Juan Galavis
says a “gay” Bachelor would be a bad “example for kids”.

Just one month after the Phil Robertson “controversy” regarding his religious views on homosexuality, a new media firestorm has erupted as another TV celebrity has come out against the homosexual lifestyle.

ABC’s latest Bachelor says he doesn’t think that there should be a homosexual or bisexual on the broadcast reality television show and described gays as “more pervert in a sense” in a new interview.

Juan Pablo Galavis, the 32-year-old star of The Bachelor, who also appeared on the most recent season of The Bachelorette, made the remarks in an interview with The TV Page’s Sean Daly, who posted audio of the comments.

The writer asked  the former soccer star whether ABC should have a gay or bisexual bachelor on the show. “No,” Pablo Galavis responded. “Just ’cause I respect them but, honestly, I don’t think it’s a good example for kids to watch that on TV. It’s hard, it’s hard, it’s a very thin line.

He continued: “Obviously, people have their husband and wife and have kids and that’s how we are brought up, now there’s fathers having kids and all that and it’s hard for me to understand that too in the sense of a household having people’s — two parents sleeping in the same bed and the kid going into bed. It’s confusing in a sense, but I respect them because they want to have kids, they want to be parents. It’s a scale, where do you put it on the scale where’s the thin line to cross or not.  You have to respect everybody’s desires, opinions and way of living. But it would be too hard for TV.”

“There’s this thing about gay people — it seems to me, I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not — I have a lot of friends like that, but they’re more pervert in a sense. To me, the show would be too strong, too hard to watch on TV,” Pablo Galavis said.

Pablo Galavis’ comments follow a December controversy that erupted after Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson made comments about gays to GQ magazine and was temporarily suspended from the show. Those remarks ignited a firestorm, drawing pundits, celebrities and politicians to weigh in on the issue of the suspension.

ABC and producers Warner Bros. Television have not yet responded to Top Right News’s request for comment.

do you notice there is always a host who asks these leading questions ? all these guys are doing is giving their viewpoint when asked. the interviewer than splashes it everywhere to get their fellow gays to go into another mouth frother. it is obvious there is an agenda going on here

The media and gays are going to eat him alive. I totally agree with him , im not anti gay nor a homophobe. But this shouldnt be TAUGHT to children. Children can choose when they become an adult. Gays need to realize society has accepted them but doesnt agree with them otherwise everyone would be gay. Gays dont agree with being straight but its ok. Its ok to disagree in this world. Media and Hollywoood are pushing this deranged thought process of if you disagree on issues or lifestyles then you are automatically ENEMIES. Thats not the way the world works. A lot of maturing needs to happen in society.

“Taught” to children? What? What’s being taught here is discrimination. Let’s teach our children to not except others for who they love because that’s so much better than teaching our kids that they are allowed to love anyone regardless of gender. I would understand and respect him if he said he wouldn’t want a gay male on the show because he’s not gay himself, but he doesn’t want them on the show just because they’re gay. “Society doesn’t agree with gays because we, as a society would all become gay.” Please, don’t speak for society. Speak for the arrogant people who still think being homosexual or bisexual is the end-all to mankind.

Gay behavior is anti-God (read the Bible) and is disgusting and is responsible for 75% of the AIDS on the planet! If 2 men can “marry” than we must allow brothers & sisters to marry since we can’t “judge” others

The bible says many things that shouldn’t be taken into the context of today. “nor wear a garmet upon you of two kinds of materials mixed together.” Leviticus 19:19. I think it’s safe to assume you’re sinning right now. Where’d you get that information about AIDS? Please, cite that ridiculous statement. We don’t allow brothers and sisters to marry not because of the bible, but because incest gives a rise in mutated genes when breeding.

AIDS is not mentioned in the bible sir. If you want to marry your sister and she wants to marry you, well what can we do about it. Go ahead.

This is a show about NORMAL people looking for a mate, not sexual deviants!

Having gays on this show is like having cats in a dog show!!

  • Christopher Mercer

So is The Bachelor now a kids show??

  • UA1Fan

The show is a bad example for kids as well. I mean what kind of responsible loving parent would let their children watch this show?

  • Brett

Besides the fact that the Bachelor is not an educational program, people could try being a responsible parent and not allow their kids to watch the Bachelor. Problem solved.
